Welcome to The North Star Havanese Club

Welcome to The North Star Havanese Club's website. The NSHC has members in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and South Dakota, who are dedicated to the enjoyment of the fabulous Cuban breed we've been captivated by. We invite you to explore our site and learn more about us and our Havanese.

About Us

The North Star Havanese Club (NSHC) is recognized as a Regional club by the Havanese Club of America.
The North Star Havanese Club was founded in 2002 and is the major hub for Havanese activities in Minnesota and the primary social and communication link for area owners and breeders.
In 2006, the NSHC was recognized by the American Kennel Club as an accredited club and eligible to hold sanctioned AKC matches.

Our Mission

The North Star Havanese Club strives to promote the health and well being of the Havanese, to educate the public about the history, standard, rescue, care, and training of the Havanese and to offer Havanese owners a way to gather in support of these magnificent dogs.

What We Do

The NSHC provides an extensive information base for all who seek to increase their knowledge of the breed. The NSHC hosts several activities such as annual specialty shows, fun days, holiday parties, regular meetings, and other social events. Please check our 'Events' page for details.
Our Havanese are family members and our pets. Many of our Havanese are active in dog sports, including conformation showing, obedience, rally and agility. Some do therapy work in nursing homes and hospitals.
