Havanese
Rescue
Rescue
Havanese come in
various ages and come into rescue for many reasons. Most Havanese are
between the ages of 1 and 10 years old. They may be surrendered by loving
homes because
of a divorce, illness or their provider passes on. They may be surrendered
because a family is not able to spend enough time with them, they may
be rescued from puppy mills or found in shelters. This does NOT mean that
these are "bad" dogs. It means they have need of a new home
and a second chance at life.
Each rescue situation is different, but all Havanese share a similar characteristic.
Since the Havanese were bred to be companion dogs, they are happiest when
they are with their "family"; receiving a lot of love and attention.
Their delight in being valued and loved is equal to their desire to please
you.
Many thanks
go out to the rescue organization and club members involved with rescues
of our beloved breed. Rescue efforts include, but are not limited to,
transporting the dogs, fostering, vet trips, phone calls, interviews,
e-mails, newsletters, home visits, and many other tasks. We are grateful
for all your hard work.
